Give Thanks (// What's Your Passion?)

Something I've been processing lately...

What are you passionate about?

I think this is an important question to ask, because so often we're more passionate about things that don't really matter in the end. Don't misread me, it's not bad to be passionate about different things, but sometimes we let those things define us rather than who we are in Christ.

Do people who look on your blog or social media know that you're passionate about your walk with Jesus Christ and winning souls to Him? Or does that get jumbled by the politics, health, or social problem posts?

Some of these things are probably good; it's not bad to be involved in politics, it's not bad to learn more about how to stay healthy, and it's not bad to want to spread awareness about social issues. But none of these things can save us.

People in political office will mess up (because we're all human). Staying healthy is fine, but we'll all die eventually (unless Jesus comes back first). And no matter how hard we try, we can't save all the orphans or stop all the social injustice that happens.

But do you know something that can save us? That's right, Jesus Christ.

Some of us have more passion when we're talking about politics or vaccines or exercise than we do when we're talking about Jesus Christ. This is a wake-up call friends. We find it easier to talk about these issues than we do about the One Who saved us from an eternal hell, and there's something seriously wrong with that.

I'm trying to work on this too, trying to bring my salvation into perspective and be passionate about what God is passionate about: saving souls.

Will you join me?
