Thanks So Much

Thank you cards are always in high demand. :) also, this is my 400th post on this blog, which I thought was pretty cool. Just thought I'd mention it in case any of you thought it was cool too :P

Something I've been thinking about recently is how God has prepared me for this time in my life.

Right now I work with kids. Lots of kids. And sadly, many young people don't know how to interact with kids these days, (and by kids I mean like infants to 7 year olds) and they're not really interested in learning how to.

From what I've seen, there's a shortage of good babysitters and nannies out there who work with kids simply because they like kids.

Now, kids can be crazy. Especially if they haven't been trained very well by their parents. But that's something that you can work with, normally.

Now, back to how God has prepared me for this season.

There's several things that I think contributed to me being good with kids.
  1. I have 7 younger siblings.
  2. I was a mother's helper to three different families who had younger kids. So, I would spend the whole day with them and hang out.
  3. I started babysitting other friends' kids when I wasn't very old.
  4. I have helped different homeschool groups with childcare (and am planning on doing it again, this coming school year). And
  5. I teach Sunday School at our church for kids ages 4-6.
God really knows what He's doing. He put me in a big family because He knew what I would be doing when I got older. And I can't wait to see where else God will use my skills in childcare! (Hm, maybe that means I'll have a lot of kids...? :P)

Kids seem like the hardest group to impact because you often don't see the fruit. I mean you may, but it's usually not til years down the road.

But we can impact kids. In fact, they are the easiest people to influence. They don't have any preconceived notions and they aren't set in the way they do things.

You can make an imprint on the lives of the kids around you, if you'll just open your eyes and see that they are there. They want to be your buddies and they are looking for people to look up to.

Don't let them down.
