Grad 2017

I haven't done a movie review in a while so I thought it was about time to do one! Recently, I watched the movie The Adventures of Tintin (also known as The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn) and I thought it was quite delightful.

Here's a short summary of the movie:

Tintin is on the trail of a big story which leads him into a world of high adventure. When he and his friends find the directions to a sunken ship, they go off to find the treasure it contained and Tintin must face the notorious Red Rackham.

This movie has been out since 2011 but I still hadn't heard about it. I literally knew nothing about it when I watched it, but I have to say I was pretty pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be a regular kids movie with slapstick humor and basically no plot, but wow I couldn't have been more incorrect.

It seems like mystery has fallen out of favor recently? Maybe that's just me, but there doesn't seem to be very many movies or books coming out that have the plot centered around finding clues to solve a mystery.

This is one. It's pure mystery - and well written mystery too, not the cliché kind where everyone knows what is going to happen.

Most mystery genres are more focused on the plot than the characters, and this is no exception, but I liked how it gave more character development than most mysteries would.

And I hear that they may (or have already?) make another Tintin adventure? Called the The Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun? Don't quote me on that, but I'd like to see it when it comes out.

So, I'm giving Tintin and his adventurers 5 out of 5 stars.

Have you seen this film? If so comment below and let me know! Also, do you know anything about the sequel?
