Our friends....

Today I want to talk to you about a Book. It's the greatest Book there is.

It's the Book that has impacted my life the most.

I want to talk about the Bible.

In a Christian's life, the Bible should be the most important Book you read. In Matthew it says:
"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4 KJV)
The amazing thing about the Bible is that it changes you. At least it should change you.

When I start my day (or end the previous day) with Bible reading the day just goes smoother.

I have more of a serving attitude.

I'm more gentle toward my siblings.

I'm more refreshed for the day.

I'm more respectful toward my parents.

And you know what? None of it is me. It's all God. Because I know that any good thing that comes out of my sinful flesh is all God and His Word working in me.

But there's a battle that's being waged. And the enemy will do just about anything to stop you from reading your Bible. I've felt it in my own life. The more you do the right thing, the more Satan will try to attack you.

But don't give up. Don't stop reading your Bible everyday because you're facing difficulty. That's letting Satan win.

Reading the Bible is pretty amazing if you think about it. It's God's very own words written down so you can read them.

So don't neglect time with God. You'll regret it if you do.

  1. Great post Ashley! I've been thinking about this recently too, as I've noticed it. When I read the word with an open heart, the Lord can speak to me even in passages that we as humans may consider dull, like Numbers or Chronicles. There's always something in there.

The same goes for prayer. I like to think of both as inviting God into our day. A quote from a sermon I heard keeps coming to mind lately, and I'm paraphrasing here because I don't remember it exactly, but the gist is, "Whatever you don't intentionally invite God into, you are inviting trouble into instead." On point! Right? :)

Nice card too! And by the way, I really like the new look of the blog here. Not sure if that's a recent change or not, I haven't been around lately. SORRIES :S

    God bless,
    Christopher Green

    1. Thanks for reading, Christopher! Oh yes I totally agree! In fact, this post was inspired after having some devotions in Deuteronomy which many would consider dull.

Yes, I've been working more on my prayer life as it has been seriously lacking recently. And wow that's a great quote! Thanks for sharing!

Aw, well thanks :) It is a more recent change so I'm glad you like it! Haha don't worry about it, bro :) Thanks for reading and commenting Christopher! I always love hearing from you!

    2. Yep! We gotta keep our prayer life strong. Which reminds me, I'm gonna go pray! GOD BLESS YOUR WHOLE FACE! :)

  2. Great post! Thanks for the encouragement. :)

    1. Thanks for reading and commenting, Vitoria! I'm glad you were encouraged by this :)

Please feel free to leave a comment! Whether you're just stopping by or you know me personally I love to hear what you think of my cards!
