I've grown up in a conservative Christian home. I was a pastor's daughter for a while. And I'm here to tell you it's not easy.

There are so many people out there who think that if you grow up in a Christian home, life is easier. And while I don't know the other side, I would say that it's not easier.

In fact, in some aspects, it may be harder.

We've got other people's eyes on us. Especially being a pastor's daughter for a while, I know what it feels like to have people expect something from you.

It's almost like they expect you to be perfect.

After all, you had a great upbringing. You have everything going for you. How could you mess it up?

But we forget that we're all still human. We all face daily struggles that take time and patience to overcome. There are some things that we won't be able to completely shake until we get to heaven.

But I'm writing this to remind myself: When I mess up, I can't beat myself up and get discouraged about myself. I've got to get back up.

It's hard when it seems like you have an audience watching your every move, just waiting for you to slip up somewhere.

But we've got to have grace for each other. Just as God has had grace for us.
