Happy Birthday to you

Wow, April is almost over already and soon we'll be into May and then summertime! :D
Well, here's a couple posts from friends that I wanted to share with you all.

From Scattered Journal Pages:
Embracing Seventeen

From the Rebelution:
We Are Not Okay

From Secondly Magazine:
What If I Stumble?

I also finished This Changes Everything by Jaquelle Crowe on the 22nd! And wow was it awesome. I would recommend it to anyone. Here's my Goodreads review:

This Changes Everything: How the Gospel Transforms the Teen YearsThis Changes Everything: How the Gospel Transforms the Teen Years by Jaquelle Crowe

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jaquelle does an amazing job showing how the gospel should influence every area of our lives... from our identity to our relationships and more. As a teen writing to fellow teens, she is very relatable and personable. She keeps the gospel at the center of every chapter and constantly reminds that we don't change simply because we are following rules but because we love God and desire to follow and honor Him in everything we do. This book is a call to teenagers who are willing to go against the flow of culture and instead be counter-cultural in the way we think and act.

Here's one of my favorite quotes from the book that I think sums it up pretty well:

Jaquelle Crowe “We're not like the other teenagers around us. We don't conform to stereotypes. We've actually become weird in the the eyes of our culture. Teen magazines were not written for us. Modern pop music is not composed for us. The latest TV lineup is not scripted for us. We're not your average teenagers anymore.
What are we? We are free. Following Jesus means we don't have to live the way our culture tells us to.”

So, if you haven't picked up this book yet, I would highly encourage you to check it out.

Well, goodbye April and hello May!
