Flower Thanks

Welcome back, readers! We're on the last part of this little series about salvation - I hope you all have enjoyed it so far; I know I certainly have.

We've talked about the first two step to salvation: 1) understanding the gospel and 2) believing. Today we're going to talk about the third step: confessing.

In the verse we read last time (Romans 10:9) we learned how we need belief in order to be saved. But also in that verse it talks about confessing:
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
In order to get saved, we've got to realize that we're wrong about certain things. We've got to come to the point where we no longer think that we know what is best for ourselves. We've got to let what God says be the indicator of truth, not what we feel.

We have to come to the understanding that we are sinners and that we can never do anything to earn the right to go to heaven one day.

So, after we believe, we confess. We confess that Jesus is Lord!

Let's remember that we have to have all three steps in order to get saved. We can't believe in the gospel if we don't understand it. We can't get saved if we don't believe what we're hearing. And we can't just confess our sins and think we're good.

Well, this has been a fun little series, don't you think? Right now on my other blog I'm doing a series about dealing with certain issues; you can check it out here.

See you all next time!
