Blue Thanks

Yes, I know I said I was going to do a post about Priceless; that is coming. Next post everyone.

This post I wanted to talk a little about politics.

Yes I know. I wonder if you can hear my sigh from where you are.

This is my first year to vote and I just want to say: it's not all it's cracked up to be.

Don't get me wrong; I'm so thankful to live in a country where we get to have a hand in choosing our leaders. But I'm constantly reminded of the verse in Romans that says
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. ~Romans 13:1 KJV
So God puts our rulers in place. Not us. And whoever is in power, we are subject to. It might seem kinda obvious but it's hard to remember sometimes. Especially during election season.

Honestly, I think we're putting way too much weight in people and not enough weight in God's power.

So don't get caught up in the political scene so much that you miss what's more important.

God has not given us a spirit of fear.

  1. It's my first year to vote too...awesome timing, right? I feel sorry for all the brand new eighteen year olds out there. Like "welcome to the messed up world y'all!"
This post was an encouragement to me, Ashley. Thanks so much for your words of wisdom. <3
