Musical Thank You

I've been thinking a lot about 1 Timothy 4:12:
"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
With the way teenagers act as a whole, I can see how some would despise us. We're rambunctious and rebellious. We think we know everything and don't like to take advice from those older than us.

This is a stereotype that I would like to erase completely. Because when someone thinks of a teenager, this is all they see.

They don't realize that we're hurting too. We have feelings and many times our actions are results of past experiences.

We're really messed up. I won't deny that fact.

But I love this verse because it gives us who have Jesus living inside us hope. Hope that we can become an example to other believers despite our youth. Hope that Jesus can do a great work in us that we could never accomplish on our own.

He will never abandon us. And even in our weakest moments, He is there, weaving our story into the greatest story ever written.

So forgive us for being selfish. Forgive us for being proud. Forgive us for losing all hope, when in fact, God is the source of all real hope. Forgive the rest of my fellow teenagers, who are striving to find a place in this hectic world just as I am.

Please, if you take the time to look past our sometimes rough exteriors, I'm sure you'll find someone who needs someone like you in our lives so that we can become the person God really intended us to be.
