Now, if you haven't read #ATime2Die or #ATime2Speak yet, you better go order those too. Got them? Okay, now we can continue.

I'll try not include any spoilers for the first two books, but honestly I can't promise that something won't slip so that's what you get for not reading them yet. :P

Summary

Parvin Blackwater wants to do something big with her life but her clock is ticking down quickly. Or is it her clock? Her twin brother and her have shared a clock their whole lives but she's certain the clock is hers. Not having a clock makes you a radical here in the east but Reid and her have done a good job hiding the fact that they've been sharing.

Parvin wants the world to know who she is before she clocks out, so she meets with a writer to help her write her autobiography. But after Parvin shares that her and her twin share a clock, Skelley betrays her and gets her sent over the wall to the uncivilized west. There Parvin meets Jude, who hides a secrete that the east government wants to get a hold of.

Having successfully survived the west, Parvin returns to a world who's been hearing about her adventures on the other side of the wall.

But with her new information, she realizes that she will need to convince her people that what the council is trying to do is not what they want.

Will she be able to convince the people that they can live without the clocks?

Characters*

Parvin Blackwater: Parvin is a head strong girl who only has one more year to live (or so says her clock). With that year, she wants to do something big. Parvin loves her twin brother, Reid and trusts his faith and wisdom. Although self focused through the first book, we see her grow into a caring girl who wants to expose the council's evil and a strong leader who will sacrifice herself for the good of others.

Reid Blackwater: As Parvin's twin brother, Reid will do anything to protect her. His faith in God influences her to trust God more fully. Reid is Parvin's only friend in the beginning and she knows he cares about her deeply. Although Parvin is certain that the clock they share is counting down to her death, Reid is certain of exactly the opposite.

Skelley Chase: Skelley Chase is a world famous biographer, so it's natural that Parvin would want him to help her with her autobiography. But he's more than what meets the eye, and Parvin will soon regret having told him about her life. After Skelley sends Parvin over the wall, Parvin absolutely despises him - and for good reasons. Skelley is one of the best written antagonists I've ever read.

Jude Hawke: Jude is running from the council because of an invention he created that the council wants. Parvin meets this mysterious man after crossing the wall to the west. Jude helps her on her journey of survival and they develop a close friendship... that turns to love. Parvin is constantly getting upset with Jude because of his mysterious ways and their strong spirits clash more than once. I loved Jude because he was real. He wasn't the perfect guy for Parvin but he ultimately gave his life because of her.

Willow: Willow is an albino girl who lives on the west side of the wall in an albino village. Parvin meets her after Willow is trying to get away from the men of her village who are trying to make her "atone". The albinos believe that plants should not be cut down or hurt since they are alive as well, so when Parvin breaks a branch off a tree to help Willow, she must also "atone" in a way she will never forget.
Elm: Elm is Willow's "grafting partner". He is also young but strong and is determined to do what he must to protect Willow. Him and Willow are completely devoted to each other.

Solomon Hawke: Solomon is an enforcer in the village where Parvin lives and is Jude's brother. He uses his enforcer identity to help radicals get new clocks instead of being sent over the wall. Solomon tried to help Parvin from the start but couldn't do very much to help her. Solomon is fiercely loyal to Parvin and will do anything to keep her safe. Parvin doesn't know how to feel about Solomon's affection at first, but soon she warms up to him and they become an amazing team. #BlackHawke

All right there is my very detailed post about #ATime2Die and #ATime2Speak. Now can you see why I'm so excited to read #ATime2Rise?

Will you countdown to the release date with me?

About Nadine Brandes:

nadine-early-release-2  Nadine Brandes is an adventurer, fusing authentic faith with bold imagination. She never received her Hogwarts letter, but rest assured she’s no Muggle (and would have been in Ravenclaw House, thank you very much.) This Harry Potter super-nerd has been known to eat an entire package of Oreos (family size) by herself, and watches Fiddler on the Roof at least once a year. She writes about brave living, finding purpose, and other worlds soaked in imagination. Her dystopian trilogy (The Out of Time Series) challenged her to pursue shalom, which is now her favorite word (followed closely by bumbershoot.) When Nadine’s not taste-testing a new chai or editing fantasy novels, she and her knight-in-shining armor (nickname: “hubby”) are out pursuing adventures.

You can find Nadine at her blogfacebookinstagram, and twitter. Also you can subscribe to her newsletter here.
