I love history. And since I love history, I love historical fiction.

Today, I'm going to highlight a historical fiction book that I've read about World War 2 (cos I like that time period).

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne.

A lot of people think of things like the holocaust and the other horrible things that happened during World War 2, and that's all true, but during that time period very few people knew what was going on. So many people were living in ignorance.

And that's why I like this book. It shows the innocence and ignorance of a child. A child who sees past labels and just sees people for who they really are - people.

It's like that's how everyone should be. Like this little child who asks innocent, simple questions and gets nonsensical answers. Things that would confuse anyone if he just thought about it.

This is the story of the son of a Nazi official who runs Auschwitz - perhaps the most well known Jewish concentration camp today. A boy who doesn't understand why they had to move away from their old home and doesn't have any friends in this new place.

But there's people inside a big fence near their house. And maybe there's someone there for him to play with.

If you haven't already read this book, I would highly recommend it.

P.S. I love World War 2 books, so if you know of any good ones, drop me a comment!
